Oscar, Sinema Sanatları ve Bilimleri Akademisi 9 ayrı dalda yarı finale kalan listeleri duyurdu.
Kalan adayların belirlenmesi için oy verme işleminin devam ettiği belirtilirken, önümüzde ay sonunda oy verme işlemi tamamlanacak.
1979 yılından bu yana ilk kez müzik kategorisinde kısa liste açıklanması büyük yankı uyandırdı. Yabancı Dilde En İyi Film kategorisi’nde herkesin beklediği adaylar yarı finale kalırken Türkiye’den Oscar adayı olarak gösterilen Nuri Bilge Ceylan’ın Ahlat Ağacı filmi listede yer almadı.
Pixar ve Dreamworks stüdyolarına ait yapımlar Kısa Animasyon kategorisinde başı çektiği görülürken tüm adaylar 22 Ocak 2019 tarihinde ilan edilecek ve 24 Şubat Pazar akşamı her yıl olduğu gibi Oscar Ödül Töreni’nde kazananlar açıklanacak.
